Automotive Service Advisor/ Writer

Location: Iowa City, IA Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Saturday

McGrath Toyota of Iowa City is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Automotive Service Advisor / Writer to join our fast-paced service department. • Previous Service Advisor, Service Writer, or customer-facing experience preferred • Strong communication and time management skills • Friendly, organized, and professional demeanor • Ability to multitask and manage multiple customers and repair orders • Customer-first mindset with strong problem-solving abilities • Professional appearance and positive attitude • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record • Willingness to complete a pre-employment background check

• Greet and assist customers in the service lane with professionalism and care • Guide customers through the service process with clear communication and support • Write and manage repair orders while coordinating workflow with technicians • Present and sell recommended services and maintenance options • Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout their visit • Help ensure a smooth, organized, and productive service department

• Work performed at a desk and in the service lane • Moderate noise level consistent with a dealership environment • Frequent movement throughout the dealership • Occasionally lift or move objects up to 20 pounds • Regular use of hands and fingers for typing and handling documents • Clear communication required with customers and team members
