General Manager Jobs in California

A General Manager in the automotive industry principally oversees the daily operations of the company or dealership. Their responsibilities encompass various areas including sales, service, finance, and human resources. They implement policies, manage staff and resources, develop and execute strategic plans to meet business objectives, and liaise with stakeholders including manufacturers, customers, and suppliers. As for certifications, a degree in Business Administration or Automotive Management can be beneficial. Professionals may also have certifications from the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) or similar organizations. Prior to becoming a General Manager, a professional may have roles such as Sales Manager, Finance Manager, or Service Manager within the automotive industry.
