Tire Technician Jobs in Wisconsin
A Tire Technician in the automotive industry is responsible for installing, repairing, balancing, and rotating tires for passenger and commercial vehicles. They inspect tires for wear and ensure that tires are fitted and inflated correctly. They use specialized machines to dismount and mount tires, perform flat repairs, balance wheels, and rotate tires. Tire Technicians also maintain the tire stock inventory and uphold the highest level of cleanliness and organization in the service area. They provide excellent customer service and provide recommendations for suitable tire products based on the customer's needs and vehicle specifications.
Some important skills for a Tire Technician include attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, physical strength, and stamina. They must also be able to work under pressure and have strong problem-solving skills. Certifications from the Tire Industry Association (TIA) or the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) are generally preferred by employers. Prior to becoming a Tire Technician, individuals may have roles such as a General Automotive Technician, a Lube Technician, or a Customer Service Representative in an automotive setting. These roles provide valuable experience in understanding the mechanics of vehicles and in delivering quality customer service.
