Automotive Technician Remote & Hybrid Only Jobs in Ohio
An Automotive Technician, also known as a mechanic, is an integral part of the automotive industry. They are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. Their duties include performing oil changes, inspecting vehicles for mechanical defects, repairing or replacing worn parts, and ensuring vehicles are running efficiently. They often work with sophisticated diagnostic equipment to identify issues and use a variety of tools to perform their tasks. Automotive Technicians must also stay updated on the latest advances in automotive technology and participate in ongoing education and training.
Important skills for an Automotive Technician include problem-solving, attention to detail, and excellent hand-eye coordination. They should also be familiar with various types of computer software used to diagnose vehicle problems. Certifications from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) are highly desirable. Possible job roles before becoming an Automotive Technician could include a tire technician, oil change technician, or automotive service associate where one gains hands-on experience working with vehicles. A solid foundation in mechanical knowledge, either through vocational training or an associate degree in automotive technology, is typically required to advance to the role of an Automotive Technician.
