DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee the total maintenance, repair, and operation of a fleet of automotive equipment. Work involves directing and coordinating the garage, grounds, and transportation functions at the facility. You will initiate all parts and supplies orders, make recommendations for replacement of unserviceable vehicles, and dispatch fleets of automotive and construction equipment. You will maintain campus roads, parking lots, and grounds which include lawn care, planting, paving, and snow removal. Additionally, you will oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program on automotive vehicles and equipment to ensure maximum operating efficiency of all equipment. This role encompasses a comprehensive range of supervisory responsibilities, including the planning, assigning, and reviewing work of mechanics, equipment operators, garage workers, and grounds personnel.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • May change based on operational needs.

  • Overtime and travel may be required.

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires the possession of an active Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • This position requires the possession of an active Pennsylvania Class 1 Inspection Mechanic Certification.
