Bus Mechanic - Shop Manager

PRIMARY TASKS

To perform periodic maintenance and repairs on automotive equipment. Diagnose, remove, replace or repair engines, transmissions, air and/or hydraulic brake systems, steering, suspension, exhaust, fuel, wheel assemblies, electrical and other major components. Inspection of parts for excessive wear or damage. Replace engines, transmissions and subassemblies when necessary. Testing of overhauled and repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency and safety. May assist others during the assembly or disassembly of equipment. May direct others involved in making repairs.

EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Must be able to perform all duties of a Maintenance Mechanic or Utility Person. Must possess a valid CDL, school bus permit, and air conditioning certifications. Must have good working knowledge of automotive systems including A/C. Must be able to: accurately analyze and complete any repairs from any stage to completion without supervision, work independently, and demonstrate ability to complete inspections and repairs in a timely fashion. Experience in both gasoline and diesel engines and components required.
