

Department of Public Works (Fleet)
Under the leadership of Director Christopher Geldart, The Department of Public Works (DPW) provides municipal services for environmental/solid waste management, parking enforcement and fleet administration. Each contribute to making District streets and public spaces clean, safe and accessible. DPW's Solid Waste Management Administration performs a number of daily operations including trash and recycling collection, sanitation education and enforcement, graffiti removal, public litter can service, fall leaf collection and street and alley cleaning. DPW's Parking Enforcement Management Administration enforces the District's on-street parking laws and is also responsible for booting and towing operations and removing abandoned and dangerous vehicles from public and private property. DPW's Fleet Management Administration procures, fuels and maintains thousands of District government vehicles, from sedans to heavy equipment.
