Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity for a Used Car Sales Manager to join Jim Pattison Toyota on Regent. If you are a driven leader who is passionate about the pre-owned market, delivering strong results, and consistently striving for operational and customer excellence, this role is for you.
In this position, you will be responsible for leading the sales department, driving performance, and ensuring a high standard of customer experience aligned with dealership pre-owned goals.
Schedule: This is a full-time, permanent leadership role based on approximately 40 hours per week. Given the nature of the retail automotive business, this role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as well as additional hours as needed to support business operations and team performance.
This role reports to the General Sales Manager of the dealership.

As the Used Car Manager, you will be responsible for driving the performance, profitability, and growth of the pre-owned vehicle department. This role requires a strong balance of inventory management, merchandising, sales leadership, and customer experience, all while maintaining Toyota dealership standards and processes.
Inventory Management & Profitability
- Source, acquire, and manage a profitable used vehicle inventory through trades, auctions, private purchases, and other acquisition channels.
- Monitor inventory levels, aging, pricing, and market trends to maximize inventory turn and gross profit.
- Ensure all vehicles are competitively merchandised online and on the lot with accurate pricing, descriptions, and presentation.
- Oversee vehicle appraisals and trade evaluations to support profitable acquisition decisions.
- Manage reconditioning timelines and costs to ensure inventory is frontline-ready and market competitive.
Sales Performance & Department Operations
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual used vehicle sales, gross profit, and inventory turn objectives.
- Partner with the sales team to maximize opportunities, improve closing ratios, and drive department performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and adjust strategies based on market conditions and dealership goals.
- Ensure consistent execution of dealership sales processes and operational standards.
Customer Experience
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by maintaining high standards of professionalism, responsiveness, and service.
- Resolve customer concerns effectively and in a timely manner.
- Support long-term customer retention through a transparent and customer-focused approach.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop team members through regular feedback, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development initiatives within the sales department.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Used Car Manager, Sales Manager, or Assistant Sales Manager in a high-volume automotive dealership.
- Proven track record of driving used vehicle sales, inventory turn, and departmental profitability.
- Strong understanding of vehicle acquisition, appraisals, inventory management, and merchandising best practices.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and make data-driven business decisions.
- Experience managing inventory pricing and market positioning in a competitive automotive environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems, CRM platforms, and inventory management tools.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Valid Manitoba driver's license.
- Valid Sales Permit license
