Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Automotive Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of light-duty vehicles, service trucks, and mobile support equipment used throughout the mine site. The successful candidate will ensure equipment reliability, safety, and availability while adhering to company policies, manufacturer specifications, and all applicable safety regulations.

You are a safety-conscious, reliable, and motivated Automotive Mechanic who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. You have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, enjoy solving mechanical problems, and are committed to maintaining vehicles and equipment to the highest standards.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on light-duty vehicles, pickups, SUVs, service trucks, and support equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, steering, suspension, braking, and drivetrain systems.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify defects, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements.
- Complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and support operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot engine performance issues using diagnostic software and testing equipment.
- Repair and maintain diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Perform wheel-end, brake, suspension, steering, transmission, and differential repairs.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure all equipment complies with regulatory and company standards.
- Complete work orders, inspection reports, maintenance records, and parts documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to identify and requisition required components and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Assist with field repairs and breakdown response as required.
- Support winterization programs and seasonal maintenance activities.
- Follow all company safety procedures, environmental requirements, and operational standards.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and workplace inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification (310S) or equivalent provincial/journeyperson certification.
- Valid Class G driver's license.
- Experience maintaining and repairing light-duty vehicles and service trucks in industrial, mining, construction, or heavy equipment environments.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills using electronic diagnostic tools and software.
- Working knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Computer proficiency and experience using maintenance management systems.
- Ability to work in a remote mining environment and adapt to changing operational priorities.

Location: Eagle River Complex
Shift / Hours of Work: 11-hours
Schedule / Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Type of Hire: Permanent, Full-Time
