What you will do.
ATS technicians are trained to provide quality maintenance on our growing fleetof over-the-road trucks and trailers. You'll perform a variety of workincluding, inspecting, diagnosing, replacing and repairing brake systems ABS,electrical components, steering systems, multi-axle alignments, hydraulicsystems, welding/fabrication of steel and aluminum and related equipment. You'llwork independently while being part of a great team!

Summary
The Trailer Technician Level 3 is responsible for the inspection, service,repair and preventative maintenance of the various types of ATS owned trailersby using ATS and industry standard methods and criteria to ensure the trailer issafe to be on the road. Functions of this position include: inspecting,diagnosing, replacing and repairing brake systems ABS, electrical components,steering systems, multi-axle alignments, hydraulic systems, welding /fabrication of steel and aluminum and related equipment
Education and Experience
Two year AAS Degree in medium/heavy truck diesel program and/or a minimum 1to 3 years of equivalent experience in related field e.g., automotive,medium/heavy equipment, trailer repair, etc. and experience in cutting andwelding is preferred.
Good working Knowledge of DOT regulations and Out of Service parameters fortractors, trailers and accessorial equipment.
Good working knowledge of trailer maintenance and diagnostic software.
A valid driver's license, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferredbut not required.
Must be able to operate all related shop equipment.
Must be DOT certified and forklift certified, or able to demonstrate throughon the job inspections and certified by the ATS trainer within 90 days of hireif work experience is applicable.
Good communications skills (written, verbal, listening).
An understanding of basic computer operations.
Good decision-making, problem-solving, attention to detail and customerservice skills (internal/external).
Competent in using computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, andOutlook).
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read installation manuals and understand manufacturer training.
Working knowledge of proper procedures for handling and disposal ofhazardous waste materials.
Level 2 have in addition to above

2.Two years plus in welding Mig/Aluminum
- Must be DOT Certified
4.Good electrical troubleshooting skills
Level 1 in addition to above
1.Two year AAS Degree in medium/heavy truck diesel program and/or a minimum5+ years of equivalent experience in related field e.g., automotive,medium/heavy equipment, trailer repair, etc. and experience in cutting andwelding is preferred.
- Must have 4+ years of experience MIG/Aluminum Welding
3.Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
- Advanced knowledge of Hydraulic systems and wireless steer systems. Candiagnosis on both Tridec and Lodar systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform inspections on incoming (Safety Lane) and outgoing company ownedtrailers using ATS, DOT, and OSHA guidelines to ensure the trailer is operatingsafely and efficiently.
Complete DOT inspections on outgoing trailers to verify that all necessaryrepairs have been made.
Ensure safety procedures are implemented and followed and PPE is used at alltimes.
Move tractors and trailers in and out of the shop for maintenance.
Inspects and perform all minor and major trailer maintenance includingwelding, tire replacement, pressure checks, brakes, lights, and safety equipmentand submits reports indicating condition of equipment.
Weld metal to repair parts or fabricate replacement parts.
Open repair orders and charge out all parts used on trucks and trailers.
Participate in online OEM training.
Remain technically proficient in all areas of the shop including trailer,tire, and basic parts.
Utilize appropriate resources, such as the parts manual and computer,service bulletins and other resources to research problems, determine mosteffective and efficient method for repair.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take appropriateactions, recommend process changes, and initiate improvements.
Be a positive role model for all team members providing support andenthusiasm - creating a professional, positive work environment.
Performs shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as othermiscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Must furnish basic tools and ATS will provide specialty tools to performfunctions of the position.
Meet all ATS and department objectives and deadlines.
Follow all ATS and department policies and procedures.
Works within budget that is set for the department.

Compensation & Benefits:
The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $20.50 -$37.00 plus $4/hr. 2nd shift differential. This position may be eligible fora $2000.00 sign-on bonus, subject to eligibility requirements. Hourly pay rateoffered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, andgeographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. Inaddition to the hourly rate of pay, employees may be eligible forperformance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/orcompany performance.Anderson Trucking Service is committed to supporting our employees with acomprehensive benefits package.
