Application Deadline - 5/6/2026 Key Responsibilities Do you enjoy assisting a variety of people each day? Then consider applying for a Motor Vehicle Technician positionwith the Ogden DMV office. You must be current on your state and federal tax filings and pass a FBI level criminalbackground check. Job Duties As a Motor Vehicle Technician, you will: Issue license plates, permits, registrations, certificates, etc. Receive, research and respond to incoming questions or complaints; provide information, explain policy andprocedures, and/or facilitate a resolution. Process transactions at a Point of Sale system, give correct change and close cash drawer at end of shift. Assist the public and others to complete forms, applications and other paperwork. Examine documents to verify applicability, legibility, completeness, accuracy, and/or consistency of informationfrom one document to another, etc. Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, in writing and/or verbally; read and understandinformation presented in writing. Perform comprehensive physical inspection of motor vehicles to verify the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The best qualified candidate for this position will have: Experience in understanding processes and procedures and to apply those in day to day functions. Experience with effectively communicating with a wide variety of people. Experience in following laws and rules and handling customers tactfully and with professionalism. Experience using computer programs in day to day functions. Experience with attention to detail and accurately handling money. Salary Non-state employees are hired for this position at $19.20 an hour. We are unable to negotiate hourly wage amounts. DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers for current state employees.
