POSITION TITLE: Mechanic/Certified Technician
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent
REPORTS TO:
JOB GOAL:
Meets State school bus mechanic certification requirements. Written proof of at least five years' experience as an auto or truck mechanic; OR written proof of three consecutive years' experience as a mechanic's helper in a school bus shop maintaining buses for pupil transportation.
Valid Alabama commercial driver's license with minimum of a Class B with passenger and school bus endoresement. Such alternatives to the above, including health requirements, as the Board may find appropriate.
Transportation Supervisor
To contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the Trussville City Schools transportation system by the repair and maintenance of vehicles.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Maintains, repairs, and reconditions vehicular equipment.
2.Repairs and maintains front and rear ends, motors, transmissions, etc.
3.Installs exhaust systems.
4.Services electrical wiring systems, ignition systems and replaces components.
5.Operates bus and wrecker.
6.Does minor body repair and painting.
7.Demonstrates knowledge of automotive parts.
8.Operates welding equipment.
9.Demonstrates general mechanical knowledge.
10.Demonstrates growth in ability to trouble-shoot problems.
11.Assumes responsibility for acting as a representative of the Trussville City Schools in the solution of problems which might affect your specific assignment.
