Mechanic

DIESEL MECHANIC/SMALL ENGINE REPAIR

The largest street and parking lot sweeping company in the San Antonio metropolitan area is looking for a self-motivated and experienced diesel mechanic to manage a fleet of ten trucks and related equipment. Applicants must have the following experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years experience in diagnosis and repair and/or replacement of parts and equipment on light and medium duty diesel trucks with some small engine repair required.

Be able to perform, maintain, and document preventative maintenance on a fleet of 10 trucks.

Must be capable of using tire repair/replace equipment, small hand tools, drills, grinders, air-powered tools, torque wrench and hydraulic jacks (MIG and oxy-acetylene welding is a plus). Vehicle paint and bodywork is a plus.

Have the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic issues.

Must have knowledge of auto parts and related terminology.

Must be able to perform safety inspections on equipment and maintain a clean safe work environment.

Must have the ability to work in a on and around equipment for extensive periods which may include lifting 60+ lbs., bending, squatting, crouching and reaching.

Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
Ability to pass drug testing and maintain a negative drug screen.
Must be able to work 5 days a week (40+ hours) with some overtime required.
Starting salary is competitive with industry standards and will be based on experience with potential raises based on experience and job performance.
