That's Travelers.  We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy, and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference.   Unit Manager for Auto Liability ¿ PA Claim Centers Location: Wyomissing, PA Purpose: Provide overall leadership and direction (including coaching, mentoring and staff development) to a team of bodily injury claim handlers working out of the Wyomissing, PA office.    Responsibilities and Duties: - Provide overall direction for claims by ensuring payout control, file quality, expense management and   increased productivity by continuous business process improvement. - Provide overall leadership and guidance to team members.  Select, train and motivate team.  - Maintain timely and consistent supervisory involvement in files to assure timely and appropriate       resolutions. - Provide ongoing counsel and constructive performance feedback. - Timely recognition of strong performance and use of recognition / reward as appropriate. - Identify and communicate development opportunities as appropriate. - Manage performance within the unit in a timely and appropriate manner - Act as a technical resource for staff. - Assist team members in managing multiple priorities. Continually evaluate more efficient and creative ways   to manage workflow more effectively. - Participate in the marketing process by assisting with customer presentations and acting as account   contact. - Ensure appropriate deployment of resources to maximize productivity and unit cost. - Effectively manage ULAE and ALAE to help promote competitiveness in the market place. - Periodic customer, agent and broker visitation. - Ensure focus on achievement of scorecard results and file quality consistent with Best Practices and   Special Account Communications. - Work closely and effectively with other peer managers on the Auto Liability leadership team to keep      everyone informed and to assure consistency across the state. Knowledge and Skills: - Prior Auto Liability management experience preferred. - 3 or more years of technical experience with medical / injury claims required. - Prior Personal and Commercial Lines experience preferred. - Advanced level and knowledge of Auto claims. - Strong interpersonal, customer service and negotiation skills. - Solid understanding of the claims settlement process in terms of coverage, claim file management,   investigation, damage verification and evaluation, negotiations, subrogation, and final settlement.   System Training - Experience in use of management information and other data to identify trends / issues and improve   results. Critical Success Factors: - Strong management ability and solid leadership skills. - Planning, prioritizing and goal setting skills. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong investigative & negotiating skills. - Solid understanding of the legal, regulatory and coverage related issues affecting states within region. - Exceptional customer service skills. - Excellent written & oral communication skills including platform skills. - Solid technical skills. - Marketing, alliance and relationship building skills.
