Job Title: Automotive Technicians and Mechanics Company: Pep Boys Location: Toms River, NJ Description:  GENERAL SUMMARY:The Technician is responsible for productive diagnosis, repair, and replacement of both specialized and general automotive partsand accessories. A Technician is expected to comply with company safety, loss prevention, and customer service programs as wellas established policies and procedures and municipal, state, and federal regulations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Operational Duties· Ensures a valid Service Order and/or Tire/Battery requisition is initiated prior to initiating service on a vehicle· Ensures a Preventive Maintenance Check List is completed on every vehicle serviced and returned to the Service Deskprior to initiating service on the vehicle· Ensures a valid Service Order is visibly displayed with the vehicle while it is being serviced· Ensures the Work Copy of the Service Order and any required printouts are completed and returned to the Service Deskwith the vehicle keys upon completion of service· Obtains needed parts through service management personnel only· Returns all unused parts to service management personnel after the completion of service· Returns rebuilt parts cores, batteries and used tires to designated security areas for appropriate handling· Maintains average productive "labor hours" equivalent to 90% of hours worked during any consecutive four week period· Minimizes "comeback” rate to two or less during any four week period2.
