Due to the economy, they've intentionally put off maintaining their cars and that's lead to even bigger and most often more costly repairs. So, you need to have some empathy for their situation and their fears. In short, you need to be professional and sincere and the "non-dealer, dealer alternative". That said, even if you do everything else right, we sometimes find that customer's have trouble approving the recommended repairs - not because we are too expensive or because they are getting rid of the vehicle, but because their personal finances limit their ability to pay for an unexpected and unplanned for car repair. They simply don't have the money right then. That's where your empathy and ability to communicate with the customer will come in. We offer No Money Down Payments (they pick up the car before all payments have been made), Ninety Day Same As Cash and other innovative plans so that the customer can get what they want - a repaired car - and we get paid for completing the repairs. If you can sincerely help the customer to get their ride back on the road, while not breaking their bank, you can come away with a customer for life. And that's what we really want to develop. Some customers won't need the above programs in order to pay for the repairs, and some repairs aren't expensive. All customers should experience your professionalism, your integrity and your desire to help them. That way, the customer will decide to come back for additional repairs, and will recommend us to their friends and family and co-workers. And that's how we grow. Are you working Sundays and evenings? We are open Monday through Friday 8AM to 5:30PM and 8AM to 12:30PM on Saturday's (you'd get at least one Saturday morning off per month). Prior successful retail sales experience is mandatory, but specific prior sales or technical experience in the transmission or auto repair business is not necessary. What is absolutely non-negotiable is that you must be receptive to and willing to attend AAMCO's training. You need to be able to: - Establish and maintain customer rapport and excellent customer relations. - Work independently while directing a team. - Effectively communicate with customers about their vehicle's condition and the services we are recommending. - Show empathy for and be able to relate to the customer's concerns. - Use a computer. - Must have reliable transportation and an ability to work during the above detailed hours. - Driver's license required. - Cultivate long-term customer relationships You MUST have prior successful retail Sales Experience, Computer Skills, Organizational skills and an eagerness to interact with each and every customer. In this position you will: - Answer customer questions by phone and in-person (walk-in) - Schedule service and follow up with customers - Test drive customer vehicles - Effectively communicate with customers - Help customers to get back on the road by working with them to arrange a repair payment programs - Order parts and key data into the computer - Coordinate the shop's work to efficiently complete work so that it meets customer expectations and the delivery commitments you've made.
